St. Joan of Arc

$25.00 - $27.00

Joan the Maiden Warrior of France was a peasant girl who received visions and helped drive the English out of France. This young girl had an impressive military record and died for her faith and her country when she was put on trial by the English in 1431. The fact that she preferred men's' clothing did not help her case. The red and white beads represent her vow of virginity, her martyrdom, and also the banner she most likely carried during battle. The blue beads represent her loyalty and sense of responsibility. The silver beads call to mind the armor that she wore.
